Ghana choker , Kalawa, sterling silver and 18 KT gold plating

Handcrafted choker with thread in sterling silver and 18 KT gold plating

Not just metal, but beautifully hued ties have been used extensively in the early Ghanaian lineage as necklaces. Bedecked with traditional charms made of gold, silver, bronze, shells, rocks, amber, etc these necklaces were used to be an accepted form of jewellery for all classes.

Our Ghana necklace has beautifully amalgamated the Ghanian traditional charms with Kalawa, a much revered and sacred thread in the Hindu Culture. Each of the five charms has been handcrafted with a different and distinct pattern. The bright orangish-red hue of the Kalawa gives the golden craftsmanship an enhanced complement, adding to its charm and significance.

Each pattern of pyramidal shape has its own texture, size 0.9 cm

A continent packed with mysteries, something so rich and vibrant about its culture, that it has always drawn us towards itself, yes, we are speaking of Mama Africa. Deep into its western lands, lies the traditional and indigenous Ghanaian lineage.

Ghana has always been known for its Gold and the magnificent craftsmanship that has been passed down from generation to generation. The wire-rolling technique has been a strong symbolic representation of the Ghanian traditional jewellery. This inspiration has led to the birth of our Ghama Collection which embraces this technique in its true form. Sterling silver along with gold-plated forms with natural gemstones lends each piece a unique, ethnic, and magical vibe. The use of Kalawa, a sacred thread in the Hindu Culture, in this collection gives it a whole new level of power-packed feel. Feel nature’s robust energy with Gama which protects each one of its creations.
